CE approved materials
What is CE?
CE is not a certification but a marking from the EU. The mark shows that the product complies with EU safety, health and environmental requirements, even if the product is not manufactured in the EU.
A product must be CE marked if both of these criteria apply:
- The product is placed on the market in an EU country
- The product belongs to a product category regulated by an EU directive
Who is responsible for CE marking?
For metals and alloys, the manufacturer is authorised to manufacture a group of products with CE marking. The authorisation is granted by an independent certification body, not by an EU body.
The manufacturer must ensure that the product complies with all relevant EU requirements and then draw up a declaration of conformity for the product.
The compliance documentation must be presented to relevant authorities upon request.
At Alcobra you can buy CE-approved aluminium and copper products. However, you need to declare this when placing the order so that we can choose the right supplier.
